Sell your soul poesia

Sell your soul

Posted on 25 Settembre 202119 Settembre 2021 by Stefania

A poem in modern times

A golden veil,
Spread on us, so we can
Feel important, we can save
The appearances

All the sweat, all the slaves
We can’t get away
The world is crumbling down
On the shoulders of the oppressed.

You believe you sit on
The shoulders of a giant
Instead
You rumble in the mud.

Sell and consume. Consume and sell.
The only thing that you
[all of us
Have sold and consumed

Is our soul.
